Description
The Pantheon Anticipating Rain
The best preserved ancient Roman building in Rome, Italy, the Pantheum or Temple of all the Gods is nearly 2000 years old and simply magical. Presently it’s a church dedicated to St. Mary and the Martyrs and known as “Santa Maria Rotonda”. I was so looking forward to rainfall coming down through the oculus on the ceiling 43 meters (142 feet) above but they closed before the rain started. Seeing the fabulous multicolored marble floors without the usual crowds of people was a real treat.
