Description
Antique Roman Theatre of Philippopolis - Plovdiv Bulgaria Centuries of History and Culture
The Roman theatre of Philippopolis, Theatrum Trimontense, is one of the world’s best-preserved ancient Roman amphitheaters. The theater was built in ancient Trimontium or Philippopolis in 1st century AD, and is still in use today. You can find it in the city center of modern Plovdiv in Bulgaria, at the edge of the Old Town.
