Antique Roman Theatre of Philippopolis - Centuries of Culture and History in Plovdiv, Bulgaria
The Roman theatre of Philippopolis, Theatrum Trimontense, was built in ancient Trimontium or Philippopolis in 1st century AD, and is one of the world’s best-preserved ancient Roman amphitheaters. The theater is still in use today as you can see from all the performance paraphernalia and the cushions on the marble seats. Interesting fact: the boulevard on the far left goes through a tunnel right underneath.

Beautifully photographed! I wonder whether the spectators would have been charged more for seats in the shade than for seats in the sun? I notice that the stage itself is in the shade.
